100 Wins.

An experiment to focus on the wins rather than the losses.

My plan is to document my wins until I reach 100.

The only thing that qualifies it as a win is if I deem it to be. Can be big or small.

I’d like these wins to come off as lessons, inspiration and or fun. In turn, making you think about your own wins more than your losses. I want it to feel like sitting, chatting and having coffee with a friend.

Here’s wins 2–5

2. I’ve been making a lot of stuff. Posting to here, Instagram and other times not posting at all. I read something recently, it’s better to make something silly, cringy or shit — rather than making nothing at all. I took that as a lesson, and when I posted the first edition of 100 Wins I was insecure and uncertain. Almost pulling it down, however, I’d rather it exist, even if it may be silly, than not exist. Make the thing.

3. These next few wins date back to Christmas time. A few dear friends of mine were heading back home for Christmas and I went to visit them before, on an icy night. The night was calm, walking through the streets, the stars ignited the sky and I felt cheerful for the first time in a while. I went and hung out with them for a while. Jackson had a gift for me, he said it was little but felt like the world to me. Saying he saw it and made him think of me, a bag of coffee. I didn’t know we were doing gifts, but their kindness is one of the reasons I returned this season. Beautiful people, through and through. It’s the unexpected things.

4. I intern received some lovely gifts from people close and afar this Christmas. From my parents, grandmother, my partner’s parents and my partner. My partner bought a couple of Mary Oliver books, read them and left little notes throughout. Anyone who knows my love for books knows how much I treasure such a gesture. Choked up, reading the same pages as someone you love is next tier. She’s top tier. For the same reason, I take recommendations with the utmost seriousness. Share the things you love.

5. Christmas this year was a challenge. Being away the second year in a row. However, I wasn’t alone. Christmas Eve was nice with friends. Barney and Maggie invited me over for a coffee on Christmas morning before I worked. Chatting, hugs and a beautiful handmade candle were gifted to me. It’s placed on my writing desk, lit every time I write. Sitting on their couch, I felt warm and loved, appreciative of it all.

Have a great week,

TIm xx
